| SOLUTION COMPONENTS |
| PSTN Connectivity |
Could be in terms of E1’s/T1’s or Analogue lines. Caller dials into the calling card company through these lines. |
| Internet Bandwidth |
High Speed Internet Access, needed to route the IP packets to various destinations. |
| Calling Card Server |
IVR and Authentication Server: The server provides voice prompts describing the account balance and minutes available for the call.
VoxPrix Management System /Accounting Server: A real-time billing and customer care platform that keeps track of calls and corresponding charges.
| PSTN VoIP/GSM Gateway |
VOIP/GSM gateway that supports RADIUS/AAA (Cisco, Quintum, etc.), this function as an interface for the originated call from the PSTN (caller's phone) to the IP network (Internet). The PSTN lines are connected to VoIP/GSM gateway. The gateway does the job of converting Voice into IP packets, so that the same can be routed over the Internet. |
| Packet Prix Soft Switch/Gatekeeper |
Soft Switch/Gatekeeper keeps record of all the routes available for calling. It keeps record that what prefix needs to be sent to which IP. It also does the call routing on the basis of prefix dialed by the caller. |
| CALLING FLOW THROUGH CALLING CARDS |
The caller makes the call from his phone (landline, WLL, GSM) to a number on the Calling card (its just like a regular mobile rechargeable card). This number is number for lines connected to PSTN-to-VoIP switch installed at Calling Card Company, in our case it is PSTPL. |
The Soft Switch, sends the call to our IVR and Authentication Server, the IVR prompts the caller to dial his PIN Number. The caller dials the PIN number and Authentication server checks the PIN and then passes on the balance information against that PIN to IVR, which is played back to Caller |
If the caller is authenticated and has balance, caller is asked to dial the destination number. |
The Number is dialed and sent to Packet Prix Soft Switch/Gatekeeper which keeps record of IP’s of Call Terminating Gateways and on the basis of the prefix sends the call to the right Gateway. |
The VoIP Gateways on receipt of the call converts the IP packet into PSTN and connects the call to end Phone. |
VoxPrix Management System or Accounting server keeps track of the duration of call and sends the signal for disconnection to Gatekeeper in case the person exhausts the balance. |
And finally the connection is established and the communication initialized. |
